claim involving a traumatic brain injury;
• $350,000 settlement

• Successful resolution of a zoning dispute involving the Natural Rivers Zoning
Act. Respondent owned a motel on a renowned Michigan trout stream located in Lake County. He also operated a fly-fishing
guide service. Respondent received a "cease and desist" letter from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources
(DNR) alleging that the fly-fishing guide service was a non-conforming use of the motel property. After significant negotiations
with the DNR, a consent decree was entered allowing respondent to continue his services as a fly-fishing guide with no significant
changes to his operations, and no fines or penalties.
